Quality Consignment

At Karen’s Consignment Gallery, we take pride in maintaining a curated selection of high-quality, sustainable and marketable pieces. To ensure that our furniture inventory meets current design trends and customer expectations, we are unable to consign furniture, home decor, lamps or other items that fall into the following categories:

Condition & Quality of Furniture and Home Decor

  • Items that are damaged, have missing or broken parts, or require repair, cleaning, refinishing, or reupholstery
  • Furniture with noticeable scratches, water stains, discoloration, or other surface damage
  • Cloth-upholstered pieces more than 4–5 years old
  • Lamps without shades, or with yellowed, torn, or damaged shades
  • Lamps requiring rewiring or showing frayed or unsafe cords
  • Glassware, China, or crystal that is chipped, cracked, repaired, or missing pieces
  • Sets of glassware or stemware with fewer than four pieces
  • China sets with fewer than four place settings

Designer Furniture Styles & Categories Normally Not Accepted

  • Victorian-style seating or ornate traditional pieces that do not align with current design trends
  • Large glass or stone-top dining tables
  • Entertainment centers, TV armoires, and China cabinets
  • Large office furniture (such as desks, file cabinets, or conference tables)
  • Flat-pack / self-assembled or particle-board furniture (e.g., IKEA-style)
  • Black lacquer furniture or other dated finishes
  • Unframed artwork, faded prints, or art with outdated matting or framing
  • Antique sewing machines or similar utilitarian antiques
  • Appliances, computers, or electronics of any kind
  • Collectible plates (e.g., Franklin Mint, Bradford Exchange, etc.)

Consignment Guidelines

Our goal is to offer items that are both beautiful and in demand. Even well-made or nostalgic pieces may not align with today’s market trends. If you’re unsure whether your item qualifies, we’re happy to review photos and provide guidance before you bring it in.
